Nora. You'll figure it out as you go. |
They are not exactly the same but they are both unspeakably abhorrent. Genocide is never something to be taken lightly, ever.
First of all - Learn the definition of a genocide. The “babies” are not being targeted because of their skin color, religion, culture, ethnicity, ancestry, or anything that would classify it as a genocide.
Second of all - lawmakers declared this because scientists declared this. Fetuses at the developmental stage where they’re being dismembered and sucked through a tube do not feel. Anything. They don’t feel anything. They have no brain yet. There is no thinking, there is no feeling, no emotion, no opinion, no pain, no suffering, no realization that they even exist. They are not aware. Whereas the mothers bearing the child are fully aware of the situation - Her financial situation, her mental state, her emotional state, the state of where and how she lives, her physical state - Need I remind you that if you lose the mother, often times you lose BOTH the fetus and mother.
Third of all - The Jewish people were fully aware human beings. They felt pain, prolonged anguish - months, years. They suffered emotional, mental, and physical torture.
I disagree that they make the atrocities seem less bad, but I think they are trying to attribute a personality, an identity to something that has none. And adult turtle has more identity, self-awareness, and personality than a fetus. And let me tell you, turtles are pretty bland beings. You think it’s atrocious because a fetus has a soul, right? Please kindly remove your bible from my uterus. I respect that you personally think it’s murder, and I respect your right to never have an abortion, but let me have the liberty to make my own choice about my own body and if God exists and he thinks it’s murder and condemns me to hell for that and probably many other reasons then so be it. I’ll live with those supposed consequences. You, however, have no right to judge me.
And for any one touting this non-religious pro-life view I’ve heard so much about - Oh come off it. The only reason there is a non-religious view is because the religious view isn’t good enough for everybody.

Man, I love that last line.
